Dermoscopy update at the World Congress

I was delighted to be invited to join esteemed colleagues from Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, and Germany in delivering the pre congress global update on the art of melanoma diagnosis, that is dermoscopy.

With three lectures covering the spectrum of melanoma that is integral to my clinical practice, namely early diagnosis of melanoma, the many faces of melanoma and the clinical and economic gain of improving diagnostic accuracy. The session was a sell out with standing room only. This update show that colleagues involved in skin cancer diagnosis value highly any lectures and information on dermoscopy.

Scalp naevi delivered by Amanda Oakley, blood vessels by John Kelly, nail melanoma by Andreas Blum, and a logical approach to mole mapping delivered by Horacio Cabo were all highlights. The feedback from the session was excellent with delegates queuing, to have their questions answered by the speakers.

This overwhelming interest in dermoscopy, by all clinicians involved in skin cancer diagnosis, makes for the World Congress of the International Dermoscopy Society, in Vienna in 2015, a must for the academic calendar.

See you in Vienna!
